For more then three years volunteer
modelmakers worked on this amazing
4ft. by 8ft.diorama depicting the building
of a Chesapeake Bay Steamboat.
Along with seldom seen photographs, from
1905, the exhibit shows the building process from the laying of the keel to launching.
Finishing work on the cabins, salons and other areas of the ship was completed at
the pier. Only after the ships were
launched were they fitted with engines
and other heavy equipment.
